We are thrilled to be exhibiting at Bear's Mill again! Gary's first solo show was there in 2006, so the Mill has a special place in our hearts. We are especially happy to be paired up with Dan Knepper! Besides being a first-rate artist, Dan has also been instrumental in encouraging Gary to pursue his art.
Below is the information about the show. From the New Knoxville/New Bremen area, the best route is Rt. 274 west to Rt. 127 south, then Rt. 36 east (about 5 miles), turn right onto Arcanum-Bear's Mill Rd. The Mill is less than a half mile from there. We would love to see you at the reception on Friday, October 31 from 6–9pm. The show runs through November 23.

On Thursday, September 4th Piqua Arts Council will host their Gala Awards Reception for the 22nd Annual Piqua Fine Art Show. Tickets are $25 each and can be purchased at Readmore's Hallmark. The event will run from 6pm to 9pm with live music featuring an acoustic guitar/dulcimer duo. Gary has two pieces in this show. They aren't his usual subjects; an eye and a spine! There's always excellent art in this show so it's absolutely worth the trip. The lovely Gala is $25. Exhibit hours open to the public are M–F 10:30am–5pm, Sat 10:30am–4pm September 5 through 26, at no cost. Update: Gary received First Place in 3D for "Spine Tingling" and Honorable Mention for "Eye'll Be Seeing You". It was a wonderful event that we enjoyed very much. There are 180 pieces of excellent artwork–plan to see it!
This gorilla family will be Gary's entry at ArtPrize in Grand Rapids, MI next September. Prizes are awarded by public votes. Top prize is $250,000! Over 1500 artists are entered. See more about this one of a kind competition at ArtPrize.org. Silverwareback (alone) received 3rd place in the Miscellaneous Category at Gateway Art Council's Spring Fling 2011. He was also awarded the Peoples' Choice Award and the Students' Choice Award. Good practice for ArtPrize! Gary has three pieces entered in It's a Guy Thing! fine art exhibit at Studio 14 Benkin Gallery of Fine Art in Tipp City, Ohio. You can see their website on our links page. He was awarded Second Place for "Sticking the Landing"(the owl landing on a branch). Also in the show are "Keep Your Hands Off Me" and a "Cocker Spaniel Puppy". I wanted to call it "Cocker Spooniel" but our sixteen-year-old couldn't handle it. The show runs from June 3 to July 25.
